(In memory of) Reuben Winter by Paul Walsh

Yesterday when riding home from work I saw that Paul Walsh had started a new portrait on the Memorial Wall in Karangahape Road (If you didn't see it yesterday, I posted a photo of it as an extra). Today it is complete, although perhaps not quite, as he has not signed this portrait.

Over the last six or seven years, Paul Walsh (one of Auckland's street artists) has painted a portrait of a number of different musicians. His first portrait was of John Lennon, since when his subjects have been musicians who had recently died.

Reuben Winter was a young man of 26 who was (I read now) recognised as a leader in the Auckland music scene. He was also known as totems. He died by suicide in late September 2020.
