There she goes

We left home in plenty of time to catch the 9:35 ferry. We were excited to be on our way to see BeachesDoogie and Impy. As we approached the intersection of our road and the main road, I noticed that the Skeena Queen was still docked in Fulford but should have left about 40 minutes earlier. Oh no. We hoped that it was just running late and not having issues. No such luck. When we got to Vesuvius, the line up was a long way up the road, and we parked right beside the sign in the extra (taken through the window). All the traffic from Fulford was now lined up to use this ferry to Vancouver Island. A ferry worker was letting each vehicle know what was happening, and G asked if we would have a two sailing wait. She said that we should make the next one at 10:50. I waved goodbye to the 9:35 at 9:50 and took the photo. Because of the heavy traffic, the 10:50 ferry didn't leave until 11:10. Nearly three hours after leaving home, we were on our way!
Then we got lost driving to BD & I's house. We'd been there once to check out the house for them and thought we'd remember the way. Neither of us did. Rather than face the humiliation of phoning them to tell them we were lost, we finally asked a woman on the street who gave us excellent directions. I don't think we'll forget the way again. :)
Finally we arrived, and I don't think hugs have ever felt so good (except the ones we got from family in July)! We wondered if we should hug, but how could we not? It was so good to see Doogie and Impy in their new home! We're thrilled to be their "First Footers" - not New Year's, but who cares! They've unpacked most of their things and are settling in. Everything looks so lovely!  A huge change in lifestyle for them, but I think they're going to love living here. We ate a delicious lunch outside, not for social distancing but because it was a really nice sunny afternoon. Excellent to catch up and have a few laughs with them. The visit was shorter than we would have liked because we knew that the ferry home would be busy. Luckily we made the one we were aiming for and got home just before 6pm. I called Dougie to let him know we made the ferry, and we both said that we didn't take any photos of us together for blip! Oh well, next time.
Now we're really looking forward to our next visit! It won't be long before we get together again.  :-))
