An Oxford Blue Plaque

A couple of years ago I suggested a blue plaque for the Victorian novelist Rhoda Broughton, who lived in Headington, Oxford for the last twenty years of her life. My suggestion was accepted and today we had a restricted, Rule of Six, ceremony to unveil it. I’m so delighted that, despite COVID, this has happened in her centenary year. She was very popular in her day and her writing was admired by Henry James.
