Drone

As I had to renew my drone pilot licence, it reminded me to take some drone shots while there was still Autumn colour in the trees.  This shot was taken from about 50 metres in the sky above my house looking south west.

The trees in the lower and left hand side of the photo are on the Chiltern escarpment.  The lens tends to flatten the image but it's a steep hillside from the valley at about 120m to the hilltop at about 250m.  The brightly coloured trees are Beech, the green trees are Oak and the bare trees are Ash.

The Aylesbury Plain is a patchwork of arable fields, some brown as they are newly cultivated and drilled, and some green with the winter wheat and barley already showing through.

The lake you can glimpse on the far right is one of a group of flooded chalk pits from a long demolished cement factory.  It's a nature reserve today (although there were illegal raves there in the summer).
