Tufted duck

Went to BodyPump after a gap of 3 weeks, I may not be able to move tomorrow. The morning started off very misty but by the time I finished my class, the sun was out and it looked like a lovely day.

We decided to make best use of the sunshine and headed off to Henley for a walk along the river (thinking it might not be too muddy - still floods near us). It was quite wet, even along the tarmac paths, but we managed to walk along the Thames for a bit. No kayakers at the lock today but some may have been arriving just as we decided to turn round and change direction.

I think this is a male tufted duck. It was hanging around with the Canada geese, gulls, mallards and coots on the Thames. I like the colours in the ripples. The boat owners who moor their boats along the river have put up plastic owls, presumably to discourage the other birds from settling on the boats and fouling them. Don't think it works as we saw plenty of gulls sitting on posts facing off the plastic owls.
