Pink Rose - and yesterday's answer!

Our pink rose has had some new buds on it for several days, but as it's been fairly chilly I was doubtful whether they'd ever open. However it's clearly a hardy shrub as I noticed today that it was sporting this rather lovely autumn bloom. A nice treat - photographed at f4 with a 10-layer handheld in-camera focus stack.

Now for yesterday's answer! Very well done to feathers who guessed exactly right (albeit hedging her bets with a few other possibilities!), but also well done to Paola, inukshukne & Dollydoug who also guessed "skin".  It's a cropped version of a shot of two sections of the palm side of my little finger, the break in the pattern occurring at the joint. I pondered adding an "extra" today showing the original, but with all our recent DIY it doesn't look very pretty so I decided to spare you that horror.
