Feathering The Nest

Hooray!  We closed on the new Maine house yesterday morning -- after a small snafu involving the real estate agent "misplacing" the door key.  It was very very cold, and it snowed quite enthusiastically on our drive up here from Boston, but luckily the heaters work, so we managed to take the chill off the interior quite quickly.  Naturally, after I had taken several giddy photos, I realized that I had forgotten to pack the camera card reader!  It wasn't until this morning that Richard had the sense to suggest I use his cell phone to take pictures until we return to Boston so that I won't have to back blip anything other than yesterday's effort.

So, here is our first project completed -- hanging 12 framed nautical flags each representing a letter of the alphabet which corresponds to the first initials of our family members' names.  It took a surprising amount of careful measuring and the wielding of a level to make sure the grid wasn't wonky!

Extras:  The view of the cove early this morning, and a little seagull we inherited.
