Borage

Luke is being discharged from Addenbrooke's this afternoon but will have to return twice a week for the next six months for chemotherapy and bone marrow checks and possible blood transfusions, one of which he's had again this morning.  The hospital has arranged transport to get him home and Monday's chemo visit car has been booked.

His mum is going to find it difficult looking after him.  He has wounds that need to be changed and dressed, temperature to take and record several times a day, medication to administer and then make sure he eats plenty.  That'll be the most challenging as he's such a fussy eater.

There is also his brother to see to, and although older than Luke, mentally he's not coping very well.  Our son is also struggling with his health and has been signed off for two weeks by the doctor.  Luke's illness has hit him very hard, but he'll have to learn to come to terms with it, plus he's not the person doing the caring.

Difficult times.
