Robert Fergusson statue

Since the grand unveiling in 2004, this statue by sculptor David Annand has brought to the attention of visitors this famous Scottish bohemian poet, who was a source of inspiration for Robert Burns. It can be seen on the pavement of the Royal Mile just outside the Canongate Church. It is unusual in that the figure is captured in motion with swaying coat tails as he strides along with his book under his arm.
