Stripped and unstripped

Today was the first walk in the woods for a few days, and you wondered how much damage the storm would have left. Surprisingly little in fact. One tree down, and that had been dead for a long time. You couldn’t see the path for fallen leaves, though I could probably walk it blindfold. Things I noticed … a watery sun; the complexity of the grey clouds; the pervasive smell of leaves starting to rot; two branches with oak leaves, growing out of a beech tree (I’ll blip that in the next day or so).

And today’s blip. How the storm has ripped so many trees completely bare, while others are untouched.
