From Now On...

Short cut...

A well lit alleyway on my way home from a cup of tea with Big Sis this afternoon. Dark at 5pm though which seems far too early.

Another perspective photo too I realise. While out this morning to get a few staple items, I noticed that some shop staff were very cheery and seemed almost excited at the prospect of closing on Wednesday. Others had gone out of their way to accommodate folk before the lockdown. It was certainly busy out there.

I phoned Gail this evening. We’ve messaged since her move but it was good to hear by voice how the move went and that she is adjusting to this halfway house. She has yet to work out the oven, television and washing machine... The dogs seem very happy and even her poorly cat has a new lease of life. Her horse is happy too. Just the weather in Wales has been pretty awful with non-stop rain and heavy winds. We’ve seen much the same here too today!

My extra is of a Crusader summer houseparty about 27 years ago. A Christian run club for all children. Our boys loved it, especially this holiday each summer. They are in this photo. So is the daughter of a family from our church who since moved to the Isle of Wight. We learnt last evening that she died last week following an operation. So sad. Karen was quite a character and great fun. We still use a phrase she was well known for, “ It turned out nice again, didn’t it.” She often filled an awkward silence with it and it always brought laughter. A photo for us really, to mark a very sad passing.
