Election Day - Past and Present

Dear Diary,

This clipping from a newspaper was in my great-great grandfather's common book which he started in March of 1836.  He wasn't able to vote in November that year since he was born in 1816 and only 20 years old but he included this list of the presidents at the end of his diary.  There had been only 8 presidents at the time.  Today, we will elect a president.  If Joe Biden is elected, he will be the 46th president.  I've voted in every presidential election since 1972.  My choice, George McGovern, lost to Richard Nixon that year.  I sincerely hope that my choice of Joe Biden prevails today.  Trump must be a one term president for the sake of our country.  It's going to be a sleepless night I think.
