The first big frost of autumn

It was delightful to see the frost return, when regarded from my study, even though the central heating hadn't come on yet.

I wanted to record the colours left in the garden shrubs and tree as well as the light gently melting the frost on the distant hillsides of the hamlets of Butterow, Montserrat and Bagpath. The mists swirled along the middle of the valley bottom for a short while before it too became burnt off.
