QUEEN ANNE'S LACE

This is Queen Anne's Lace (Daucus carota); a.k.a Wild Carrot. It's an alien in the U.S.; belongs to the Parsley Family (Umbelliferae). It is related to Caraway (Carum carvi)... the seeds of which are used to flavor many foods. I like them in Rye Bread.

EXTRA: The first one shows the seed head later in the season and the second shows the so-called cup-like "Bird's Nest" that is the eventual last stage of it's seasonal growth.
