Lockdown Loaf

Today was just dreich!  The foggy rain never lifted.  In the end we resorted to "Virtual Yogalates" (yes, really!) and baking.

I didn't take a picture of my yogalates - as it would probably breach some community ruling - so here is my first loaf in lockdown.  

Fortunately, the sourdough starter has been very tolerant of my stop/start approach to baking, and on this occasion I used (for the first time) 50% white rye, 25% spelt, and 25% 'whatever needed using up'.  I left it to prove overnight, at which time it looked a complete disaster, but fortunately by lunchtime it had perked up enough to make a thoroughly pleasant, tasty loaf.

After this success I will keep experimenting!
