Remembrance Day in Canada

and Veterans Day in the US. Here is a photo of my hubby's dad, who came from Koenigsberg as a young man and later was drafted in WWI, and he served as a paramedic. He was stationed in the US and never went back to Europe in his life.

Today on 11.11 at 11:11 o'clock the mardi gras season begins!!!! This tradition around the world happened since ancient times. Here in our area the tradition is not celebrated, but I am coming from the Rheinland in Germany, where Karneval was part of our culture. HELAU!
