Armistice Day - Katy Memorial

I seem to be spending a lot of time on Cannock Chase at the moment.  Today was meeting a good friend and taking a walk that was best described as around the edge. We ended up doing over 18 miles.

For lunch we popped into a local cafe, now operating as a take away.  We had to find somewhere to eat the sandwiches, so headed across the road to the Katyn Memorial, which you will be able to read on the plaque commemorated a gruesome episode in World War II.  It was decorated with these traditional ornate Polish lanterns, I imagine they would have looked amazing all lit up on the first evening.
