honoring...

...veterans

saying ‘thank you’ - to those who have served - our country in war or peace - dead or alive - for whatever sacrifices they have given - great or small on - behalf of the principles we believe in - to uphold them - so we can continue to live - in this country, freely

my daddy, pictured here - served in the korean war - for several years - as a result - he missed the birth - of his first born child - his daughter, my sister - who was my best friend - he was just a young thing - as most soldiers are - barely past 20 years old - and like many of his generation - he shied away from talk - about his time served - he was not outspoken - about what he did - what happened or what he saw - it was almost as though he preferred - to leave that part - of his life in the past - and simply move forward - but i believe his time served - helped form him into - a man of honor and integrity - a man loyal to his family and country - a man dedicated and tenacious - to ensuring the safety and wellbeing - of those he’s responsible for - in all things - in all ways

this is how my daddy lived his life - the legacy he will be remembered for - and that’s why these - are the things which make it...

a

happy day.....
