The Lozarithm Lens

Pinboard (Friday 13th November 2020)

Nobody can accuse me of being stuck in a groove when for this month's pinboard selection of 7" single sleeves I have turned the board from portrait to landscape mode...
I've gathered all the Clash sleeves I could muster but have had to add a couple of miscellaneous oddities. The Clash were an 'agit prop' group in the Thatcher era in a way that few are these days, under the increasingly far right era we are sadly in now.
In the lyric of Bankrobber Joe Strummer sings, "My daddy was a bankrobber/ But he never hurt nobody/ He just loved to live that way/ And he loved to steal your money". In reality his father, Ronald Ralph Mellor MBE, was Second Secretary in the British High Commission, Zomba.
