Pink flamingos

We were expecting a wet day and got away with rather good weather for the time of the year.

Instead of pounding the streets around Bearsted we decided to drive to the other side of town to Teston Country Park on the River Medway. We haven’t been along that part of the river for years, in fact it must be pre-Blip.

The omens were not good when we arrived as the carpark was heaving. In the end we parked about half a mile away at St Mary’s Church in East Farleigh, walking down to the park to gain access to the river.

A very enjoyable walk to Wateringbury and beyond before retracing our steps to that village, crossing the river to return to our starting point higher up on the opposite side of the valley. The paths were a little sticky and gloopy in places so we were glad to have our proper boots on.

Always something of interest along a river and today was no exception. Plenty of expansive, tranquil views, one of which I’ve included as an extra. However, being as it’s Silly Saturday, today’s blip has to be of the common or garden Medway pink flamingos and their pink awninged boat. What a find. Just the silly thing Admirer would have admired. Thank you for continuing to host this creative challenge davidc or is it Carol?

A very late lunch of a very long piece of baguette with cheese and pickle was most welcome at 3.00pm.
