Mono Monday . . . Openings

These are the gates to Isel Park in Stoke.  In the nearly four years I have been visiting them only one gate has ever been open.  The white card on the gate is the QR code for Covid tracing. I have the app and hold the phone up to the code and it records my visit. It is becoming a habit to do this everywhere I go.
The original owner was Thomas Marsden a watchmaker from Cumbria, England.  He and his wife arrived in Nelson in December 1842.  By 1849 he started building a house and planning the park.  He planted most of the older trees, which are now over 100 years old.  It is a lovely park to wander in any season.
