Valley Cemetery

The cemetery is located in Manchester, NH.  It comprises 22 acres in the middle of the city and is home to some of Manchester's rich and famous.  Mr. Blood was instrumental in manufacturing steam locomotives in America.  This is the only one of 13 mausoleums that has a fence around it, not sure why.  The cemetery also has a Pauper's Section and during the 1850s cholera outbreak many were buried in mass graves at the back of the cemetery.  I'm definitely fascinated by these buildings to house the deceased.  The cemetery is said to be haunted and often people complain of feeling a cold breeze brush past them on the hottest of summer days.  There are a few known "ghosts" as well that have been documented repeatedly.  Some say they've felt hands on their shoulders or a touch on their back.  I'm happy to say I experienced none of this today.

Many thanks to pinkhairedlady for hosting this week with the theme of shape and form in the landscape and as it turns out, I'll be hosting on November 30th and the theme will be Water In The Landscape.
