A good turnout for the funeral procession this morning, with many villagers lining the main street to say goodbye to Cyril. The event  prompted me this morning to sweep the path near our house of horse manure, hay and rotting leaves, finishing just in time. It was time to make safe the path for elderly residents et al, as well as providing future compost and as a show of respect and pride.

who has contributed so much, over so many

Christmas suit now lies empty. The bell that
has annually announced his festive arrival,
