Prince Rupert

Originally built in 1452, this previously derelict Building was expertly renovated a few years ago into the excellent public house it is today. It's age is even more apparent inside, especially upstairs with its very old rickety wooden beams and flooring. High standard pub food and draft ale too.

In 1644  the Prince Rupert sucessfully held the strategic town of Newark from the advance of Parliamentarians aka Roundheads in the English Civil war, until the end of the war.

Popped into Newark today to collect some vitamin D pills amongst other things.

Excellent conditions prompted me to mow the lawn for the last time this year, all the surrounding tree leaves having now fallen and being dry. Very satisfying.
