Indoor Blip: Moody Moogy

Moogier in large
Extra: Mellow Moog poster

I spent some time today exploring the mellower side of the Moog. It is easy to get big, bold sounds out of it, but I was exploring its gentler, silkier character... It is a monophonic synth (capable of only a single voice at a time), although it can be played paraphonically, splitting the two main oscillators to allow two different notes to make up the final voice. It is certainly a characterful instrument.
My parents kindly had parts of its analogue circuitry upgraded for my birthday, so although it says "Sub 37" on the front, it is actually a "Subsequent 37" inside, and the tweaked sound path offers a wider tonal range between pure/clean and gritty/distorted sounds.
I definitely found some dreamy mellow tones this morning (see extra?), especially when the sound was put through external reverb.

Others here (or right from Palettized synth)
