Changing Seasons

Flower Friday: Hellebore

This Winter Flowering Hellebore has clearly decided that its Winter already as you can see.  On another very wet and cloudy day I resorted to getting the flash out to take this shot - I just didn't fancy taking another mono shot this week.

So, it now appears that bullying is fine, as long as your  behaviour was not intending to be bullying.  Throughout the land HR professionals and employment lawyers will be scratching their heads and wondering what on earth is happening.  But according to our Prime Minister, as long as the bullying behaviour of the Home Secretary (the Home Secretary for goodness sake) was unintentional  then it did not amount to a failure to comply with the Ministerial Code.

As no one actually told the Minister that her behaviour was intimidating or insulting and made them feel uncomfortable and frightened she gets off scott free.  I can't think why her bullied staff were unable to come forward and address the problem with her, can you? But in the absence of their doing so, it appears that the Minister herself had no responsibility to actually consider the impact of her shouting and swearing on those that worked for her...

The real shocker is, that after watching Boris Johnson's government play fast and loose with Parliamentary procedure and accountability over the last 12 months this comes as no surprise at all.

At least the Prime Minister's Independent Advisor on the Code, Sir Alex Allan had the integrity to resign when his findings were rejected by the Prime Minister.

What a year 2020 continues to be, and for all the wrong reasons.
