Fog and the River

My first morning to
scrape the windshield and watch fog
slip through the valley.

Before sunrise, a bank of fog had slithered into the valleys. It settled along the rivers blocking the city from my view.

I wanted a closer look so I warmed up the truck while scraping the windows. I drove down to the edge of the North Thompson River. The fog with sunshine peeking through makes for interesting photos. Two pairs of mallard ducks came up from the river to root around for something to eat. Fallen leaves were frosted. The puddles were frozen on top. Before 10 AM the fog was lifting to give us a lovely sunny day. The magic was gone.
