Conclusion

Twice into town today, admin stuff, without huge success. But I definitely live in a beautiful place, this is a tiny square, Largo Governador Furtado de Mendonça, on the way up to the castle. So why am I struggling to not feel down? Maybe something related to Bryson's afterword below...

Gratefuls:
- legs that walk fine, almost painlessly
- eyes to see the beauty
- warm sunshine (though down to 8C at night)

The Body, Brief Afterword, p447
On January 8, 2020, the New York Times ran an article from Hong Kong under the headline 'China Identifies New Virus Causing Pneumonialike Illness'...
Luckily, the article reassured readers, there was no evidence that the virus spread easily among humans...
Clearly that conclusion was a touch premature.
And that's the end of The Body.

My own conclusion comes from Psalm 139:13-16
Oh yes, you shaped me first inside, then out;
    you formed me in my mother’s womb.
I thank you, High God—you’re breathtaking!
    Body and soul, I am marvelously made!
    I worship in adoration—what a creation!
You know me inside and out,
    you know every bone in my body;
You know exactly how I was made, bit by bit,
    how I was sculpted from nothing into something.
Like an open book, you watched me grow from conception to birth;
    all the stages of my life were spread out before you,
The days of my life all prepared
    before I’d even lived one day.
