Tiger longicorn beetle

At first glance, I thought this little critter (1.5cm long head and body) was a wasp but couldn't find it in any Aussie wasp collection. Then I put it through an insect ID app and found it was a beetle. The adult eats pollen and nectar and the larvae feed on dead wood.

There's a lot of insect and grub life out in the garden right now. Looking for tiny things on Tuesdays makes me notice them and that's a good thing.

Thanks for hosting JDO. Stay well all.
