Langdale Pikes

I drove to Skelwith Bridge this morning and walked from there along the River Brathay to Chapel Stile.  I started quite early when it was very quiet and the light improved on the return leg to the car.  Take away coffee at Chesters and then home in the lovely sunshine.

While walking, I met a chap with a lovely (if slightly nervous) black cockapoo.  He explained that he was a rescue dog and was gradually calming down and settling in with him.  Apparently, his previous owners had moved house and left him tied to the gate post at the old house.  At least he is with a loving family now.
