A meeting in Edinburgh this morning, and after lunch and visit to one of my favourite places, the Scottish National Portrait Gallery. The gallery only recently reopened after two years of refurbishment. This portrait is always striking. It's of the cyclist David Millar. His face is gaunt and filmed with sweat and he is looking away from the viewer. Millar was suspended in 2004 after using performance enhancing drugs, but has fought his way back to win national road race and time trial titles.
