A loose translation is "You'll look at the moon until you fall into the muck-heap." has too may letters, a quick/rough count cut me off with "ck heap." missing: counting spaces as characters.

I'm unconvinced that an explanation is really called for.

It just struck me that I/we see manymany night shots of the moon, but nowhere near as many day shots.
