Tufted Duck

A very still, misty and slightly frosty start to the morning. I thought the sun might break through but it remained dull and damp while I was out with the dogs.

This morning in Queens Park there were plenty of dogs and toddlers, all accompanied by a responsible adult or two. Feeding the ducks is a very popular activity with the young.

There are a few Tufted Ducks on the large pond but they are not interested in breadcrumbs and keep to the far end of the pond where the activity is not nearly so frantic as gulls, pigeons and mallards fight over the smallest crumbs down by the main pathway.
