Fading Away

Fortunately the two inches of snow that was forecast did not materialise, save for a light dusting earlier on. Instead, the day was a washout. I made an effort to go out when the rain paused and across the lake I was attracted by distant trees fading away into the mist.

Using a long lens was a double edged sword. On one hand it compressed the scene, but at the expense of sharpness. I tried taking two shots using different focus points and merging them in PS. Although I managed it, the procedure was time consuming because of the reeds moving between shots.
