Hazel

It was strange that Hazel took to sleeping stretched out on the dining room floor, our own feet tell us that it is not the warmest of environments. So we put down a sheepskin rug, thinking he would appreciate the luxurious warmth as he snuggled deep into its fibres, but he totally ignored it. However, he does like the faux sheepskin rug (IKEA's best) and lies there quite happily, especially in the section right behind Mr Flum's chair, putting himself at risk every time he moves.

Today, though, I am concerned for him as he has hardly eaten anything apart from milk, which, three days ago, he demonstrated a sudden liking for by climbing onto the table and putting his head into the jug - swiftly removed and a bowl substituted, I hasten to add.

This photo shows how untypical is his profile, he is skinny and bony except where the tumour sits. Also seen is the tufty fur towards his rear which is a little matted but he will not allow us to brush, however gently.

This is the first time I have noticed such a change in his behaviour but we shall see what tomorrow brings.
