Beneath Biscay

Bandstand.

Taken on my way home lunchtime. On a half-day to go to a friend's funeral in the afternoon.

Although it's a bandstand I'm not sure I've ever seen anyone using it for that.  It's normally used by groups of youngsters to hang out.

I noticed that the husband of one of our friend's four sisters was not present.  We'd seen him yesterday at the chapel of rest. It turned out that shortly after we left he got a call from the hospital about the results of a scan and asking him to go in. So he has been admitted with pneumonia.

In other news it looks like we'll be cancelling our, perhaps over optimistically booked,  Christmas week escape to Lanzarote. Even if the flights aren't cancelled, which they are currently until 16th December, we'd all need to have taken PCR tests not more than 72 hours before flying, adding another 360 euros. Hopefully by Christmas we'll be allowed out of Gijon, even if we're not allowed out of Asturias.
