Tiers 1-4

Our son and I saw this cake on Nigella’s programme the other day and thought it would be ideal for my wife’s birthday today.

So I was up sharp to bake the sponges and make the icing. When you see the ingredients laid out it is a cardiac arrest waiting to happen. That is if you eat all of the cake yourself.

It was in fact quite light and a nice mixture of sweet and salty: it is a chocolate and peanut butter cake.

Good family zoom catch up in the afternoon and an enjoyable steak dinner (though I say it myself as chef) to round off the day.
