Strange Bedfellows

The Christmas cactus flowering merrily here is an offshoot of mine which also lives in the utility room (In the link it can be seen at the back).
When a piece broke off the parent plant I shoved it into the nearest pot, with the red poinsettia, not expecting either to survive.

The poinsettia last winter put out new red bracts (though has since suffered, losing lower leaves) but the cactus is positively brimming with health.

Sometime they must be separated but I'll enjoy their twosome for awhile yet.
