Sparkling ...

first of December!

Cold but lovely blues skies encouraged us out for a walk this morning. Heading down our road the sparkling Christmas tree (left) erected by walking and blipper friends A (Toby Walker) and S (Wilsden Walker) last week, who also happen to be the chairman and secretary respectively, of our village am dram group, Harden Players. I think it must be part of our village Christmas Tree trail. Saw the other two on the same street and the one on the right has a sign saying ‘Merry Christmas from all at Harden Beck Horticultural Society’.
There are a few consisting of lights in the same stretch and that’s only one little corner of our village.

Starting today too is the village Advent window trail. Chris has gone to get a map from the PO so that will be interesting too.

We ended up in the St Ives Estate and had a coffee from The Ivy Kitchen. No competition for the picnic tables they were all covered in heavy frost. Lots of people out enjoying the sunshine despite the cold.

I opened my first window on yesterday’s advent calendar - a squirrel inside - very nice. Face timed with Eda before she went to nursery and she wanted to open all hers and they’re  not chocolate. She particularly wanted to open no 11 which shows fairies, it will be interesting to see if she manages to do one a day!
