Tufted cage

I only took a short walk today through the estate and up onto the ranges before returning via the local store for some veggies for dinner.  On the way I saw this clump of Tuft fungi, most likely Sulphur Tuft, growing profusely on an old tree stump. This is a small section on the edge of the clump which seems to be caged in by tentacles which on close inspection are depositing tiny seeds on the caps.

Just the job for today's Tiny Tuesday challenge, hosted this month by carol_dunham
