A bit quiet

But so good to be back. The Bistro is only opening for Sunday lunch at the moment, although they seem to be doing a good takeaway trade over the weekend. It is so hard for restaurants at the moment, as they don't know how many people they will get, how much food to order etc. But they are putting a brave face on it, determined to get through. We feel we are doing our bit in going for Sunday lunch! As did quite a few local people.

We had a lovely Zoom family session yesterday. We were shown the tree they have decorated and the wonderful Advent calendars their Mum has made them - rows of envelopes containing surprises. Now that we have all agreed that trying to get together over the Christmas season is not sensible, I feel relieved. It's not just the virus risk, it's knowing that none of us is going to be travelling on what will be very busy roads. Anyway our daughter needs a quiet time to relax after a very hard term at school. The girls are quite happy with the situation - they are already planning for a Christmas Quiz session and Ella, who will be nine on the 23rd, is delighted that her request for a Zoom session on her birthday was granted - she just loves being the star of the screen!! Children are so much more adaptable than we are.
