D had the idea that we would go up to the allotment to feed the (sadly neglected) spudger tribe, but actually he just needed to spend the day vegging out at home, doing nothing in particular, getting used to his new phone, etc etc. A 'weekend' visiting from Hull is really not much of a break. Still, he'll be back for the 'festive' season in 12 days or so and will get a proper break then.

He spent some time packing and re-packing items he'd been lacking - and took a fairly huge bag of foodstuffs (coffee from V & C, bacon from Peelham farm, a bottle of kombucha from Buddy, fresh sauerkraut from me, etc). So I went up to Waverley on the bus with him to help carry as I did last time, although the view from outside the lift was very different.

Got home to find an email from Trev with several beetroot recipes attached - great work, Trev! Think I'll try those shami kebabs first......
