Not frost

I did a double-take when I saw this growing outside the walls as I knew it wasn't cold enough for frost. In fact it's some kind of hairy baby plant that seems to have got confused about what season we're in. I will try to keep an eye on it as it unfurls.

Today started off badly as a fault on our main phone line has developed - we cannot make out what the person on the other end is saying as there is a huge amount of crackling. We worked out that they can probably hear us better, so we can explain and give them our other phone number, although we haven't been able to test that out yet. The broadband was very slow which might or might not be connected. However I managed to persuade my colleague R to join me outside for lunch as the weather was pretty good which improved things as far as I was concerned.
