Day 5

Augusta, Cape Leeuwin is the furthest South Westerly point on the mainland of W.A, its where the two oceans meet The Indian and the Southern.
The leeuwin lighthouse was constructed in 1895/6 several shipwrecks had been reported in the area after the fist settlers arrived in 1830, Cape Leeuwin was chosen as the best location for the lighthouse.
It was automated in 1982, the year we arrived in W.A along with our 3 young children, we have seen big changes over the years, today didn't disappoint, lovely to see more money injected into this historical landmark.
We drove through Cape Leeuwin National Park on the way back to our camping site, good to be amongst the tall timber..
The 3rd picture shows the lighthouse at the very tip of the mainland.
