Hiding

I spotted him hiding underneath the boardwalk this morning, unusual to find a wading bird here, or he could be trying to shelter from the heat, 34c today.
Im not sure but he could be a Nankeen Night Heron? if anyone else has another thought i would be glad to hear it.
