Chilled to the Bone(y M)

Hannah and I shunned a walk in the hills, as we valued our extremities and facial features. Instead we visited Bath, which is a stunning city even when draped in freezing mist and exuding a rather brown and grey vibe. We spent a pleasant few hours strolling the atmospheric streets, and marvelling at the grandeur of the stone buildings. In the indoor market hall, Mary’s Boy Child by Boney M rang out and the festive period was kicking in despite the meagre footfall. The picture is taken from the path that leads down from the Pulteney Bridge.

I’m not going back to Cambridge immediately as a longer change of scenery is needed. So instead I caught the train to Devon to join my friend Michelle on the coast for a week. Or longer, if we extend. I arrived in Seaton in East Devon just slightly too late to enjoy the sunset over the cliffs, but it felt delightful to be by the sea, and we celebrated with a chilly evening walk around the deserted town.
