Rainbow

In the wake of brother-in-law Jim's sudden death yesterday, Richard and I have just taken refuge in daily 'stuff' really, as he packs and gets ready for the trip to stay with the family in Northern Ireland tonight.
Last night we watched one of the classic John Wayne films of the kind that Jim loved ('She Wore a Yellow Ribbon'). Both of us remember this and other classics from our childhood. Politically incorrect warts and all (from the heavily caricatured "Indians" to the deafening sexism and the casually harsh treatment of horses). However, in some strange way it was comforting at the same time, perhaps mainly as a distraction.
Over breakfast this morning, I spotted that warming of the light that tends to come with a rainbow, and scooted across the road to the park to see what I might catch. I couldn't get much of a view, but liked the hints of colour over the houses and between the tree branches. There's a slightly brighter one in the extra.
On the plus side, Richard, Marianna, Jack and Frieda all had Covid tests yesterday. We got the results today and they're all negative - phew.
Thanks to all for sympathetic comments yesterday, much appreciated.
