Old Chester - 3

This old coaching sign dates from 1763 and is on the side of the Pied Bull pub in Chester. Dating back to the 11th Century the former coaching inn is thought to be the oldest continuously licensed premises in the city. Predictably it is reputed to be haunted with a ghost in the cellar. This is the ghost of John Davies who fell down the cellar steps in 1609 with a knife in his hand. Two of the bedrooms are also reputed to be haunted by chambermaids. Anyway it is a very attractive sign and interesting to see places like Ludlow and Bath represented.

I seem to have invented by own challenge which I'm calling Nostalgia Friday.
