Fallow deer stag

We went for a walk around Charlecote Park National Trust property today and as you may know they have quite large herd of fallow deer which roam the park.
Most stags are kept apart from the main herd for most of the year and seem quite unperturbed by the presence of humans.
We did a figure of eight walk so that we could stop half way for a hot chocolate and slice of cake before continuing on. Flapjack for me whilst J had an iced gingerbread man.
As we got towards the end of the walk there were a lot of stags grazing very close to the path which allowed me to capture this one.
A lot of herons about too plus some swans and the other usual bird life. A really nice walk and we bumped into some friends too.
