Meeting with friends...Covid style!

Friday
We had received an invitation to visit our friends Phil and Suzanne for a physically spaced, masked get together on their front porch, which as you can see, they have very nicely equipped for outdoor gatherings, even including a restaurant style stand heater, and heated throws on the chairs, not that we needed either today, since the temperature was heading up to 61F under largely sunny skies! Phil is the friend who sometimes takes us out on his sailing boat, and we did get out with him once in the summer, but we hadn’t seen Suzanne for some time. We had an enjoyable time catching up on each other’s news. They showed us the wedding book from their son’s wedding last year, which was in Italy, as that’s where his wife is from - beautiful photos. In the summer they had travelled across the US with a pop-up camper to visit their daughter and her partner in California, as Suzanne didn’t want to risk flying or staying in hotels. They were used to towing a boat, but they hadn’t towed a camper before, and unfortunately, on the way they had significant tyre problems with the camper, and at one point Phil had called Roger to see if he had any advice, as he remembered us having problems with our caravan tyres when we were living in France many years ago, 1986-96. Roger was able to give him some suggestions, which they appreciated, and eventually two tyres later, and a delay of several days they made it to California! We stayed a little over two hours, which was a nice break in our day, then it was back to housework for me, while Roger went out for a local bike ride. In the evening, we watched a streamed concert from CCM, Cincinnati Conservatory of music, reputed to be one of the top music schools in the country after the Juilliard School.
